Put your bare feet on the earth and get your life back...
We are organisms that live, grow and depend entirely on the earth while we are alive. Yet, we have completely isolated ourselves from it. We are so disconnected that it becomes a weird thing if we slip our shoes off.
By planting our feet on the ground, our bodies will begin to heal themselves. Could such a simple thing help us get better?
The fact that we don’t spend enough time grounding may have something to do with our love of shoes. We don’t just wear shoes because we don’t want to stub our toes. Shoes are a big part of our modern day culture. We are trained early on, by our parents, to wear shoes and to keep our shoes on.
Synthetic materials were invented in 1960. The first thing they did was to put synthetic soles on the shoes. We started wearing sneakers. Today, 95% of people walk insulated on the earth. This was the single thing that happened that probably caused the proliferation of inflammation related disorders far and above anything else. The synthetic sole shoe could well be the most destructive invention that man ever made.
It seems we accidentally disconnected from the earth. Being able to wear shoes was a big advancement but, on the other hand, no one knew the side effects of losing our electrical ground with the planet.
We need grounding just as we need air and sunshine. Humans are no longer naturally grounded. These materials are interfering with us.
There are growing concerns that if we are not grounded, we absorb tremendous amounts of electromagnetic radiation from our modern devices. We are all immersed in an electromagnetic environment — from wifi to the wiring in our homes and it disturbs our electrical balance. We get electrically charged inside of our bodies.
In our natural state, the earth has a natural system to ground our bodies. The surface of the earth is electrically conductive and wherever you are standing barefoot on the earth or connected to the earth, we are collecting electrons that come from the sun.
According to the experts, health disorders like cancer, arthritis and many other diseases come from chronic inflammation. Inflammation isn’t just physical. There is neuro-inflammation or brain inflammation. Brain inflammation causes depression. What grounding does is squelch the fires of inflammation. If the body is grounded, you can’t have inflamation. When we touch the earth, our body instantaneously saturates with electrons.
There is a lot of skepticism because it sounds absurd. How can we just put our feet on the ground and reduce inflammation?
Our bodies (the heart, the lungs, the brain) are all electrical equipment. The electrons and the electrical rhythms of the earth are very important for setting our biological clocks. Electromagnetism is the force that is holding everything together. Grounding maintains the entire system in an electrical environment. The earth neutralizes it.
Grounding is connecting to the earth to support the specific functions of the organs of your body. When we put our feet on the ground, we are in contact with Mother Earth and it is endowed with electrons which are literally absorbed through our feet. All the systems in the body go to their normal “grounded” state when you are making direct contact with the earth.
Think of it as taking handfuls of antioxidants but you are taking them through your feet.
We are all electrical beings and we are always being bombarded with something artificial and overstimulating. In order to re-calibrate ourselves, we just have to put our feet on the ground.
Clint Ober, referred to as the “Grounding Pioneer” in The Earthing Movie, says he questioned grounding for 20 years because it just didn’t make sense.
It sounds too easy yet, so many of us are skeptical. The issue is that, once you experience it, you run into trouble trying to explain it to somebody else.
For thousands of years, spiritual masters have taught the benefits of meditation while sitting on the earth. Many believe that grounding and meditation go hand in hand.
I encourage you to get out in nature and remove your shoes. It has a magical potency about it. It grounds us when our thoughts are racing — desperate for control about an unknown future. It reminds us that our greatest power is to heal ourselves and connect with the earth.
This is way bigger than just walking barefoot on the ground. It is helping many people live a way more balanced life. We do not need a physician to recommend this. It is our birthright because we live on the earth.
